Juan Olivares Salinas, Sr., 80, of Springlake, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 in Lubbock. Juan was born on August 22, 1940 in Sebastian, Texas to the late Frederico Salinas and Anselma Olivares Salinas. He graduated from Lyford High School in 1958. He moved to Springlake in 1973, where he worked as a ginner for 30 years at Farmers Coop. He loved spending time with his family, cooking out, and going on road trips to his hometown of Sebastian. He loved his family with all his heart. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Juan will be greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever.

Juan is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Sanchez Salinas of Springlake, two sons, Juan Salinas, Jr. of Sebastian and Fred Salinas and wife, Maggie, of Harlingen, two daughters, Lisa Salinas Alanis of Springlake and Patty Salinas and boyfriend, Ray Reyes, of Earth, one loving sister, Mariarita Vela of Sebastian, eight grandchildren, Jacob Polando, Alexandra Polando, Anissa Gonzalez, Lee Salinas, Brittany Salinas, David Salinas, Claudia Salinas, and Andrea Salinas, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Danny Polando.
