Dennis Carl Burkett, 71, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Lubbock. Dennis was born on February 3, 1949 in Lamesa, Texas to Dale Logan Burkett and Bernice Lota Sanders. He was raised in the Lubbock area and graduated from Monterey High School. He had attended Texas Tech University and had worked as a salesman in the mobile home and car business. He loved rock and country music, traveling to the mountains and Ruidoso, NM, going on cruises, and working in his yard. He was a people person, very friendly, never met a stranger and loved to talk. He loved his family, and especially his granddaughters. He was Lutheran and was preceded in death by his parents.

Dennis is survived by his 2 children, Heather Thomas and husband, Howard, and son, Geron Burkett, 5 siblings, Brenda Stone, Cheryl Riley, Sheila Frazier, Daniel Burkett, and David Burkett, 4 granddaughters, Emily Paris, Lauren Thomas, Kathryn Thomas, and Julie Burkett, and 1 great granddaughter, Samantha Paris.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at a memorial service at 2:00 PM Monday, November 2, 2020 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway, in Lubbock. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock.
