Manuel Salazar, 84, of Idalou passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Lubbock. Manuel was born on September 20, 1936 in Pleasanton, Texas to Jose Maria Salazar and Brigida Trevino Salazar. He was married to Oralia Calderon Rodriguez Salazar. He had worked in construction building homes and framing. He worked all the time, built many things, and was able to pass this talent on to his grandsons. He was a very good family man and was a man of few words. He was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Idalou.

Manuel is survived by his wife, Oralia Rodriguez Salazar of Idalou, 3 children, Teresa Salazar, Anna Rodriguez, and Frank Rodriguez, 3 siblings, Paul, Consuelo, and Isabel, 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 children, Joe, Manuel, Jr., Delma, and Rosemary, great granddaughter, Adelina.

Due to COVID restrictions, face masks and social distancing will be required. Visitation and services will be for family only. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway, in Lubbock and Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 8002 East US Hwy 62/82, in Idalou. Interment will follow in the Idalou Cemetery. Please visit for more information.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Salazar, he was truly a Man if God..He had a wonderful personally. has truly been a blessing to have know him ..he's gone, but he will never be forgotten ...the Bible says, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord prayers go out to his wonderful family ...always look to the heavens with cometh our help, our help cometh from the.
