Bill Hale was called home to our Heavenly Father and great comforter on November 16, 2020. Bill was born on November 20, 1934 to Armond and Velma Hale in Roby, Texas but soon moved to Lamesa, Texas where he would call home for many years. He graduated Lamesa
High School in 1950 and farmed in partnership with his father and brothers. Bill entered the US Air Force in 1953 and served until 1957. He served in the Korean War and was stationed at Itazuke Air Force Base in Fukuoka, Japan and Unishima Air Force Detachment in Unishima,
Japan in 1954. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant in Communications. Bill married Mary Lou English in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1953. Together they had two children, Theresa Renee Hale born in Hobbs, NM and Ronald Bruce Hale born in Lamesa, TX. Bill and Mary divorced in 1965. Bill then graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 1975. He was working at New Mexico State University when he met his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria Raulston. They were married in Lamesa, TX. Together they had two children, Bryan Douglas Hale, born in Lubbock, TX and Traci Junell Hale, born in Lubbock, TX. Bill retired with 30 years service from Texas Tech University where he was Director of Administrative Information Systems. In retirement he volunteered his time putting together solar bible players for the Sunset International Bible Institute became Papa Daycare for his Lubbock grandkids, was an avid puzzler, quilter, and a lifetime spoonerist.
Bill was a devout Christian, loving husband, one-of-a-kind daddy, and amazing Papa. He instantly made an impression on everyone he met with his enormous smile, kind eyes, warm heart and his wry sense of humor. Bill enjoyed all things sports from Texas Tech baseball,
football, and basketball to watching his grandchildren play hockey, volleyball, and swim. He was a true Patriarch who taught his loved ones to always put family first. Bill loved his family fiercely until the end and will be missed greatly. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Armond and Velma Hale, brother Bob Hale, sister, Beverly Wood, and daughter Renee Hale. He is survived by his wife Gloria Hale, Brother Bud Hale, son Bruce Hale, son Bryan Hale and his wife Mysti Hale, daughter Traci Davidson and her husband Jeremy Davidson, grandchildren Hailey Hale, Sebastian Hale, Gage Davidson, Molly Davidson and many nieces and nephews who all adored him.
