Sara Perez Deleon, 89 of Tahoka passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 22, 2021. She was born December 10, 1932, to Felipe and Estella (Acuna) Perez in Pawnee, Texas. Sara married Miguel DeLeon, Jr. in March of 1949 in Tahoka. Sara enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Sara was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Elaine (Richard) Lopez, Yolanda (John) Alvarado, Sylvia (Gerryl) Hernandez and Jill Deleon, all of Tahoka and Diana (Mike) Lara of Lubbock; sons, Tino (Rosa) DeLeon, Michael (Vanisa) DeLeon, Felipe (Veronica) DeLeon, Daniel (Minerva) DeLeon, Gabriel (Elsie) DeLeon, and Habiel (Delia) DeLeon, all of Tahoka; brothers, Obaldo Perez Sr., from Granger Tx; Panfilo Perez Sr. & Jimmy Perez from Jonah Tx; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Miguel; her parents; three sons, Jessie, Juan Manuel and Celestino DeLeon on December 25, 1955; granddaughter, Laela Duran, sisters; Juanita Perez Flores, Elisa Perez Garcia, Margarita Perez Hernandez, Sally Perez Yanes, brother; Felipe Perez, Faustino Perez.

Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Combest Family Funeral Homes Tahoka with rosary to be cited at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at St. Jude Catholic Church with Mass to immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Nevels Memorial Park.
