I didn't know Jean very well, but what I DID know, I sincerely liked! I had the pleasure of working with Jean for a couple of years at the post office and even though we didn't get a chance to visit much, when our paths DID cross, she ALWAYS had a kind word for me, and I'll never forget her for that, I will truly miss her! From the book of John, chapter 14, verses 1-3 : Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. Please know that your family are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I truly share in your grief. Respectfully, David Grow Lubbock Texas

Earle and family, Words cannot express the shock and sadness I feel over the loss of your beloved Jean. I thought she was one of the nicest people I'd ever met, just as I think that about you Earle. I am so sorry for your loss and for that of your family. I'm so glad that she was able to retire and you could have her so closely by your side for that short period of time. I already miss seeing the two of you visiting our neighborhood coming to Katie's house. When you are next here, I hope that you will call to say hi. Now Jean is with Katy in heaven. I hope you will be ok. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Debbie Pfeifer & Family

I knew Jean from the GMF at the Post Office. I never worked with her. But when I got to working days early in the morning I met her before she went home she was then a clerk & later she worked in the Red Room at the Post Office. Jean was always nice to me & showing me her personally when she wanted me to help her do something. I am so sorry for your loss but u will see her again soon. God Bless all of Jean's family.. Jean was a special lady I worked with for about eight years at the Lubbock GMF. She met with numerous truck drivers (including me) almost every weekday morning to transfer paperwork. My meetings with Jean were brief; however, she brightened my day with her warm smile, quick and intelligent wit, and principled spirit. I will especially miss the good-natured verbal sparring matches she had with Cliff Shaw and Ray Deleon. Of course, Jean always won because of the skills she said she gained raising her kids. I will miss you, Jean! My sincere condolences go out to Linda Jean Hutson's entire family.

As a fellow midnight shift worker at the U.S. Postal Service, I remember Jean's smile and her love for her family, and I've missed that since I retired in 2007. Unfortunately I have a church committment this morning at the time of the funeral so I will not be able to be present. God bless and comfort the family during this time of sorrow.
