Ella McInroe of Idalou departed this life August 6, 2010 at the age of 78. She was born on August 21, 1931 in Estacado, TX to the late James Grady and Essie (Johnson) Carlisle. She graduated from Lubbock High School and later married Darrell McInroe February 25, 1949 in Wolfforth. She was a member of the Civic & Culture Club, Lubbock Chapter 76 Order of Eastern Star, and the Senior Citizens Club. In addition, Mrs. McInroe spent 30 years as the Assistant Superintendent over crafts at the South Plains Fair, and more than 40 years working at the Fair. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Idalou.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Darrell of Idalou; three daughters, Karen Sue Chambless and husband Roland of Strawn, Kathy Rogotzke and husband John of Snyder, Anita Alvarado and husband Frank of Ft. Worth; two sons, Dwayne McInroe of Idalou and Mike Miller and wife Elaine of Gilbert, Arizona; two sisters, Laverne Ashcraft of Ft. Worth and Zelma Burton of Mannesville, Oklahoma; one brother, William Edward Carlisle of Mendenhall, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. McInroe was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Alan McInroe and one brother, Grady Carlisle.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at White Funeral Home in Idalou. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, August 9, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Idalou. Interment will follow at the Idalou Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Ella was a great lady. I know all the children and grandchildren will miss her. Darrel will especially. My prayers are with you. Ella was always so kind to me. She was also a very good friend to my mother, Eunice Benton. May your memories of her help you in these days of grief.
