Thame Harland Chapman passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the age of 53.

Thame was born July 21, 1965 in Plainview, Texas to Claude William and JoAnn (Henderson) Chapman. A lifelong resident of West Texas, he graduated from Plainview High School in 1983. He attended Texas Tech University where lifelong friendships were developed as he earned a bachelor's degree and became a devoted alumni.

Thame moved to Lubbock in 1999 and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as he worked in the computer programming area. Thame had a generous, caring heart which was evident to all who had the fortune to know him. His many years of dedication to caring for the needs of his mother, as well as, the devotion of his friends who shared his life journey with him were testaments to his caring heart.

Thame is preceded in death by his father, Claude William Chapman and his brother, Dennis Chapman. Those left to celebrate his life are his mother, JoAnn Chapman; his cat, Skeeter; his sisters, Claudia Webb and her husband Jimmy, and Debbie Chapman; niece, Jessica Colti Webb; nephews, James Coy Webb and wife Rachel and son Carter, and Jerad Cody Webb and wife Erica and children Tanner, Adeline, and Beckett. He is also survived by lifelong devoted friends whose support and encouragement meant so much to him especially during his illness.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Oak Crest Suite at Combest Family Funeral Homes from 11:00 a.m. until Noon.

Thame was the best friend I've ever had, and had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met. I already miss him so much, but am so very thankful God put him in my life. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will cherish so many great memories of the times we spent together for all the rest of my days. I'm praying for the peace of God to comfort his family and loved ones during this time of mourning.

Beautiful tribute to Thame! Love to all in Texas and Colti here in Kansas. I hope his celebration is a true reflection of the way he lived and cared for others!
