Yolanda Connie (Subia) Jalomo of Lubbock passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the age of 72. She was born April 1, 1947 to the late Prudencio and Guadalupe (Garcia) Subia Sr. in Denver, Colorado. Yolanda grew up in Big Spring, TX and later moved to Seattle, Washington where she lived for 25 years. In 1989 she moved to Lubbock. Yolanda married Manuel Jalomo Jr. in Lubbock in 1962. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Olga Jalomo-Pacheco and husband, Reynaldo Pacheco, Jessica Jalomo-Barnett and her husband, Robert Barnett, and Marisa Jalomo-Garza; two sons, Gabriel Jalomo and Ruben Duran Jalomo, Sr. and his wife, Carmen Jalomo; one brother, Prudencio Subia, Jr. and his wife, Gloria; three sisters, Josephine Cantu and her husband, Ernesto, Janie Delgado and Maria Alicia Subia; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Manuel; son John Fitzgerald Jalomo; three sisters, Bernarda DeLeon, Sarah Subia and Maria Rodriguez; and one brother, Daugoberto Subia Sr.
Visitation for Yolanda will be held on Thursday, June 27th, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 pm at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Mass will be held on Friday, June 28th, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
