James Olen Jackson passed away on September 7, 2019 at the age of 70 years. A Texas native, James graduated from Sundown High School in 1968 and married Jean Lyon in December of that year. Together for 26 years until Jean's death, they had two sons and a daughter. James owned a family business in Wolfforth, Texas which specialized in gaskets and metal work. Together with his parents, wife and children, as they grew, the shop was a second home where they worked together for many years. During that time James was a boy scout leader for his sons’ troop. He had a love of nature that lasted his lifetime and was often hunting and fishing. His wife, Jean, proceeded him in death in 1994. During the second chapter of his life James discovered a love of native American artifacts and acquired a large collection that he treasured. He found love a second time and married Barbara Townsend in August of 2006. With his marriage James gained a daughter and two sons. James leaves behind his wife Barbara, two sons, William and James Jackson Jr. (J.J) a daughter Brenda Haslam, his stepsons Yuri and Anthony Townsend, 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. We will forever miss his quick smile and kind heart. He was and will be dearly loved.
Services will be Thursday September 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Sundown Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
