Wanda Sue Williams, 82, of Lubbock, formerly of Tulia passed away November 4, 2019. She was born April 20, 1937 to A.R. and Hattie (Morgan) McCormick in Danville, Arkansas. She married James Williams on June 5, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico. They owned Williams Furniture Store in Tulia, Texas until 2005. After retiring the couple traveled the country for 12 years before settling in Lubbock in 2015. Wanda's hobbies included cooking, quilting, embroidery, and collecting dolls.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband James; children, Steve Williams of Pampa, Texas, Rhonda Cummings and husband Billy of Idalou, Texas; her siblings, Everett McCormick, Jr. and wife Ruby of Clovis, New Mexico, Eldon Ray McCormick and wife Joyce of Bovina, Texas, Tommy McCormick of Lubbock, and Douise Ellison of Farwell, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Resa, Robin, Melissa, Daniel, Chance, and Rance, Jeremy, and Jennifer; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Michael Williams in 2017; and 3 siblings.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services are scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Combest Family Memorial Chapel and burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Bovina Cemetery.
