Mario Joaquin Gomez, Sr., 59 of Lubbock passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019. He was born November 9, 1960 to Alfredo T. and Tomasa (Garcia) Gomez in El Paso. Mario grew up in Lubbock and attended Lubbock ISD. He received his Mechanics Certification and worked as an automobile mechanic. Mario was a man of the Lord, a hard worker, and was a prayer warrior. He was a devoted father, loving grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Crystal Lopez and husband Antonio, Yvonne Gomez and spouse Patrick Rivera, Delianna Gomez all of Lubbock; mother, Tomasa; wife, Anna Gomez; six siblings, Maria L. Gomez, Jose Alfredo Gomez, Jose Gomez, David Gomez, Sandra Rosa Gomez, Marisela Gomez; eight grandchildren, Cassidi Gomez, Jazmine Gomez, Elizabeth Rivera, Patrick Rivera, Brandon Gomez, Antonio Lopez, Sylvia Rivera, Sara Rivera.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alfredo; children, Mario Joaquin Gomez, Jr., Christina Marie Gomez; siblings, Maria Guadalupe Aguilar, Juan Gomez, Alejandro Gomez, Faustino Gomez.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thrive Church, 3017 39th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79413.
