Cecil Wayne Cummings, also known as “Pawpaw, Pops, and Old Man”, 76 of Lubbock, Texas passed away Sunday, May 4, 2020. He was born May 21, 1943 to Samuel and Bovie (Ferguson) Cummings in Coleman, Texas. In his younger days he enjoyed long days on the lake, water skiing, working on cars, and being with family. Cecil’s favorite foods were fried chicken, ice cream and jalapeño peppers. He was a lover of movies, everything from sci-fi to westerns. He had a movie collection of over 3500 movies. He was a hard worker and took on numerous jobs throughout his lifetime. Cecil worked for Ben E. Keith for 25 years. He was always kind, never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and wore a smile that was contagious. He’ll always be remembered for the gentle man he was and will be truly missed by all that knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Shaila Jimenez and husband Joe of Lubbock; son, Carl Cummings and Craig Cummings of Lubbock; step-son, Steven Reed of Lubbock; stepdaughter, Tracy Williams of Dallas; sister, June Weatherford of Waxahachie, Texas; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great=great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Cummings; two brothers, Pete and Donny Cummings; sister, Joyce Rinne; stepson, Irvin Percy.
