Armando Davila, 75 of Lubbock passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was born July 20, 1944 in Douglas Michigan to Florentino and Inez (Cabazos) Davila. Armando enlisted in the U.S. Army April 8, 1968. He received recognition as a Sharpshooter m-14 and received a Good Conduct Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal before being Honorably Discharged on April 30, 1970. Armando married Mary Helen (Mendoza) Davila June 4, 1971 in Lubbock. Armando worked for more than 25 years for Texas A&M as a grounds supervisor. He was a very hard worker, enjoyed working with his hands gardening, fishing, and anything outdoors. Armando was a people person, he loved helping others and was very generous. He was a loving husband, father, and son. Armando will be greatly missed. Armando was of the Catholic Faith and played in the choir at Our Lady of Grace. He was a current member of Christ the King Cathedral.

Those left to his memory are his wife of 49 years, Mary Helen; his son, Israel Davila of Austin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Florentino and Inez.

A visitation will begin at noon with rosary to be cited at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020. Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 at Christ the King Cathedral with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.

If attending the Mass, the church has requested that mask be worn. The family ask that you please send flowers directly to Combest Family Funeral Homes.
