Dennis John Saran, 50, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 in Lubbock. He was born on October 9, 1969 in Waukegan, Illinois by his mother, Margaret Pegi Saran. He was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and married Raisa Michelle Purcell on June 4, 1993 in Albuquerque. They moved to Lubbock in 2004, where he worked for Gandy’s Dairies for many years. He loved to write poetry and was a member of The Lubbock Poetry Movement. He loved music, especially rock and jazz, and played the bass guitar. He was humorous, kind, and compassionate.
Dennis is survived by his 2 children, Deirdre Merriott and husband, Matthew, of Amarillo and Val Vause of Lubbock, and sister, Jennifer Saran of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife, Raisa Saran, mother, Margaret Pegi Saran, and grandparents, Walter and Jean Saran.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock. Please visit for more information.

Buddy your going to be missing in this world. I am so bless to have meet you at Gandy Dairy. Dennis you was always happy and a very heard worker. In the 15yrs you always has a big smile and very cheerful. Make sure you play that bass from from the heavens brother. My deepest condolences go out to all of his family and friends..

Dennis was a friend and co worker of mine,We worked together on the Gallon Filler at Gandy's for many years,I have many great memories of Dennis,He was a good man and am blessed to have known him!
