Oralia Gayton Benitez, 87 of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. She was born on March 7, 1933 to Esmerjido and Nicolasa (Castillo) Gayton in Nixon, Texas. Oralia married Juan Flores Benitez in 1960 and he passed away in 1998. She worked many years as a dry cleaner for different cleaners in Lubbock. Oralia loved working in her yard, taking car rides, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Erica Davila, Juan A. Benitez, Jr., Abel Benitez, Sylvia Manriquez (Adolfo), Rudy Benitez, Lucy Benitez-Rios (Alex Rios), MaryAnn Benitez, Jamie Benitez, Rosemary Benitez, Jimmy Joe Benitez, Jr.; 61 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Oralia was preceded in death by her parents, Esmerjido and Nicolasa Gayton; her husband, Juan Flores Benitez; son, Jacky Benitez; brother, Fred Gayton; sister, Aurora Zuber; and grandson, Freddy Davila, Jr.

Visitation for Oralia will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 10am-6pm at the Venue on Broadway. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 2pm at the Venue on Broadway with entombment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be John Manriquez, Frankie Lozoya, Jimmy Joe Benitez, Jr., Michael Rodriguez, Alex Rios, Jr., and Aaron Rios.
