Greg Brooks, 65, of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Lubbock. Greg was born on May 31, 1955 in Lubbock to Robert Brooks and Helen Juanita Ruff Brooks. He was raised in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock Coronado High School. He owned and operated Brooks Construction Company, where he was a master carpenter specializing in cabinetry, framing, roofing, and remodeling. He traveled with his work to Austin, Kerrville, Long Island, New York, and the Lubbock area. He was an artist, where he loved to draw, paint, work with clay and metal castings, and collected antique tools. He was a Christian and member of the National Rifle Association. He was known to be a humble and quiet man that took care of his family, and he had a very dry sense of humor.
Greg is survived by his 2 children, Chrystal Brooks and Robert Lee Rennels of Lubbock, sister, Bobette Brooks of Lubbock, 3 grandchildren, Ian Martin, Zaedyn Mojica, and Tommy Varnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lonnie Brooks.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at a memorial service at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway, in Lubbock. Cremation arrangements were under the personal care of Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock.
