Teresa Cedillo of Lubbock passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born to Pablo and Maria (Balderas) Valdez in Eagle Pass, Texas on February 6, 1942. She grew up in Petersburg where she met the love of her life, Eusebio Cedillo and on November 15, 1957 they began a 63 year marriage. Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family, as well as to many others who called her “Mom”. She had a big heart and was a wonderful cook who made sure you had something to eat anytime you came to visit. Teresa had a great sense of humor but is best remembered for her sayings and words of wisdom through which she encouraged and inspired others.

She is survived by her husband, Eusebio Cedillo; children, Maximo Cedillo (Norma), Daniel Cedillo, Delia Medrano (Enrique), Jessie Cedillo (Linda), Gilbert Cedillo (Molly) and Lisa Gutierrez (Michael); her siblings, Victor Valdez, Juana Arriaga, Bonnie DeLaRosa, Mary DeLaRosa, Beatrice Castorena, John DeLaRosa and Sylvester DeLaRosa; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo Valdez and Maria DeLaRosa and siblings, Jose Valdez, Lupe Valdez, Licha Valdez, and Eduardo Valdez.

Visitation for Teresa will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 12pm until 8pm and Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 9am until 8 pm with Rosary being recited at 6:30pm at the Venue on Broadway. Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church at 10 am on Thursday, September 3 with burial to follow at Petersburg Cemetery.

Due to technical difficulties, we were not able to live stream the rosary service. However, we were able to record the service and it has been posted below. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Teresa , I will always be thankful for you always loving me, my mom and my siblings. You always welcomed us with open arms! My favorite saying of yours that I will always remember is " Am I right or am I right" I loved your confidence that you had. I will forever have you in my heart.

With love,
Dee Drie

Mamacita.

I remember driving to meet you and I was so nervous. You made it so easy and loved me and made me feel welcome. I didnt talk tonight because I don't like speaking. But I wanted to say I admire your strength so much. I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that you were sick and no one knew cause you put it aside to take care of your husband. That is true love. Watching you two at the end was such a beautiful thing to see and im so glad I got to witness it. You are truly a strong lady of God with much love. Well done mamacita. Love you always. Linda Cedillo
