Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Scarbrough of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the age of 79. He was born August 17, 1941 in Lubbock to J. O. and Edith (Lee) Scarbrough. Ronnie grew up in Lorenzo, attending Lorenzo High School. He worked in the farming industry until 1983 when he began working alongside his brother at Scarbrough Tires and Auto Zoo until retiring. Ronnie’s passion was his family and reminiscing about his beloved wife, farming and the “good ole days” when life was simple. He enjoyed collecting coins and football cards, but will best be remembered for the kindness, compassion and genuine love for all those that he knew.
Those left to cherish his memory are children, Ronald “Ronnie” Scarbrough, Jr. of New Braunsfels, Kim Pierson and husband Joe and Rhonda Robinson, all of Lubbock, Kevin Scarbrough and wife Mihee of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Brian Scarbrough of Lorenzo; brother, Edward Scarbrough of Richmond; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie Faye (Carter) Scarbrough in 1995; siblings, Billy Joe Scarbrough, Carroll Scarbrough, and Delores Jennings; and great-grandson, Bryan J. Finch, Jr.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Lorenzo First Baptist Church, 214 Tyler Avenue.
