LaVerne W. Sager of Lubbock, formerly of Washington State, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the age of 86. He was born January 16, 1934 in Iowa City, Iowa to the late Gus and Elizabeth (Miller) Sager. After high school, LaVerne joined the U.S. Marine Corp and served in Korea. After honorable discharge, he worked as a Journeyman Electrician until retiring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing and spending time at the Casino.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, LaVerne Sager and wife Lori of Fontana, California and Teresa Rios and husband Henry of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.

It’s always hard to lose a Dad Vern so grateful and thankful that you were able to be with him at the very end. God is definitely great all the time . May you family and his friends find peace at this time and know that he is resting in the arms of his Savior.
