Cathy A. Call, 76, of Lubbock, passed away on Thursday evening, February 11, 2021 at Bender Terrace surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

She was born on April 8, 1944 in Hatch, New Mexico to the late Dale Tibbs and Edna (Provine) Tibbs. Cathy met the love of her life, Lloyd R. Call, Sr., and they were married on September 21, 1961 in Hatch, New Mexico.

Cathy and Lloyd co-owned AB Dick Products of Lubbock, beginning in 1976. Eventually, they co-owned Cartridge Plus in Lubbock, with Cathy serving as President of the business for 15 years until closing their business and retiring in 2006.

Hatch, New Mexico (known as the home of Hatch Chile's) was a home away from home while Cathy and Lloyd lived in Lubbock. They traveled back frequently to get red and green chile's to cook, prepare and preserve for use in cooking one of her and Lloyd's favorite foods, Mexican food. Lloyd remarked that one of her favorite dishes that she cooked was red chile enchiladas and green chile enchiladas.

Cathy attended Melonie Park Church in Lubbock.

Surviving Ms. Call is her loving husband, Lloyd R., Sr., of the home, one son, Lloyd R. "Kip," Jr. of Lubbock, one grandson, Rayce Dale Burns of Lubbock, and her mother, Edna Tibbs.

She was preceded in death by her father, one daughter, Kerri Gwyn and one sister, Sylvia Lavon Goad.

Celebration of Life Services for Cathy will be held at a later date in Hatch, New Mexico.

In remembrance of Cathy, her family requests memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, American Red Cross, or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The Call Family has entrusted her final care to Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Cathy was such a wonderful person! Jerry and I were lucky enough to spend a few weeks with them over the past few years. Our times in Lubbock were so much fun, eating out which they loved as much as we did! Trips to Hatch and the lake property and shopping in Post! We spent Christmas with them in 2017 and spent the night in the family house in Las Cruces. On my bucket list I had a wish to see them dance and I did! Jerry and Cathy had a close special connection for cousins and spoke of it often.
