Ray Coor, 87, of Lubbock, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Coor was born on March 28, 1934 in Brownfield, Terry County, Texas to the late Ivy Vernon Coor and Fannie May Frances (Barton) Coor.

He married Johnnie Lee Ross on May 11, 1957 in Artesia, New Mexico.

Ray was a proud and honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed in oil field management all of his life, retiring in 1999. He loved racketball, golf and most any sports that involved a “ball.” He was a member of Monterey Church of Christ.

Survivors include is wife, Johnnie Lee; two sons, Terry Coor and spouse Judy of Lubbock and Whitney Coor and spouse Holli of Abilene; two daughters, Cynthia Coor of Salt Lake City, UT and Joy Conklin and spouse Gary of Artesia, NM; one brother, Marvin Coor and spouse Garci of Denton, Texas; one sister, Betty Jean Magill and spouse James of Salt Lake City, UT; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Pat Coor, Paul Coor and H. L. Coor, and one sister, Lilly Forester.

Memorial Services for Mr. Coor will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Monterey Church of Christ.

The Coor Family has entrusted his final care to Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

I hate to hear this. He was one of a kind. Absolutely the best person I ever knew at my old job The Racquet Club. He helped me out so much when I first took over managing the health club My prayers are with all of the fsmily.
