Susan Kay Byrd of Tahoka passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the age of 60. She was born May 1, 1960 in Tahoka to Claudie Junior and Bernice Jean (Blackwell) Meeks. Susan graduated from Tahoka High School in 1978. She worked in the Lynn County Tax Office as the clerk for over 13 years before retiring. She married Kim Byrd on September 18, 1981 in Tahoka. Together they made their home in Tahoka and were members of the First Baptist Church. Susan enjoyed crafts, painting, and cross stitching.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Kim of Tahoka; daughter, Kyndel Cowley (Shannon) of Shallowater; siblings, Ricky Meeks, Cathy Runnels both of Tahoka and Julie Ramos of Odem; mother, Jean Meeks of Tahoka; and two grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father in 1994.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 11, 2021, 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with family will receive friends 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Monday, April 12, 2021, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes, Tahoka. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 12. 2021 at the Tahoka Cemetery with Rev. Cliff Holdridge officiating.
