Dennis Weldon Boyles, Jr, 60, of Lubbock passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021. Denny was born February 10, 1961 in Lubbock to Dennis and Ruby (Shelton) Boyles, Sr. He graduated from Coronado High School in 1979. Denny was an all-around athlete but excelled in basketball. He was also very involved in the rodeo. Denny put himself through college by working for Frito Lay. He graduated from Texas Tech with his masterโ€™s and PhD in Ruminant Nutrition. Denny married Janie Kelley on May 27, 1983 in Brownfield. They owned LDJ Nutrition for over 20 years, working with dairies, ranchers, and feedlots. The couple were members of Milwaukee Church of Christ. Denny loved going fly fishing. He was a man of God and will truly be missed.

Denny is survived by his wife, Janie; his children, Colton Boyles and wife Betsy and their children, Wyatt, Colin, Aileen, and baby girl on the way, Caylen Boyles, Kaycie Wilson and husband Brandon and their children, ShaunMichael, LauraJane, and baby boy on the way, Holly Barton and husband Josh and their children, Oliver, and Kason, Toran Boyles, Taven Boyles, Tiani Boyles, Michael Boyles, and Christian Boyles; his mother, Ruby Boyles; and his siblings, Dawn Culpepper and Dane Boyles.

Denny was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Boyles, Sr. and his sister, Julia Echo Boyles.

Open visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Venue on Broadway with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 at First Baptist Church with burial to follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery. The family invites guests to write down memories and special influences Denny left with them and deposit those in the memory box that will be at visitation or at the service.

Janie and family, I just happened across your profile and learned of Denny's passing. I am so shocked and sorry for your loss. When I think of Denny and you, I think of the abundant love you both had for all of the children in your care.
