Claude Leslie "Les" Clemmons of Lubbock passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the age of 68. He was born April 17, 1953 in Borger to Lester and Betsy Clemmons. Les worked for United Supermarkets as a manager for many years before joining a food brokerage firm. He later owned and operated Horizon Marketing before retiring from Kemps Ice Cream. Les had a passion for sports, especially softball. He helped grow the Lubbock Senior Softball Program where he was an active player, all-around worker, and built friendships that have lasted a lifetime.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of more than 48 years, Sherrie; sons, Tim Clemmons and wife Kristi of Grandview, Michael Clemmons and wife Ginger of Lubbock, and Joshua Clemmons and wife Sarah of Dallas; sister, Sara Groce of Shallowater; and eight grandchildren.

Les was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Southcrest Baptist Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or Hospice of Lubbock.

So sorry for your loss. Les was one of my favorite classmates all through school and I was so looking forward to seeing him at our 50th Reunion. He always was friendly and fun to visit with. Just found out Les passed away... sad heart...will cherish the memories of playing softball with and for Les. Without Les-I would have never played senior softball. Some of my best memories are playing with the travel teams Les put together. Great coach, manager and friend. Can't say enough about his influence on senior softball -he loved it. But most of all, just a good man.
