Cynthia Shields, 68, of Lubbock, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Windmill Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Cynthia was born in Morton, Cochran County, Texas on June 21, 1952 to the late Walter Wesley Shields and Nellie Christine (Nesbitt) Shields.

She graduated from Idalou High School in 1969 and then attended Texas Tech University from 1970 to 1971. She worked as a Store Manager for Town and Country in Littlefield and Levelland for approximately 15 years. Before returning to Lubbock 4 years ago, she worked at an antique shop in Goldthwaithe, Texas.

Cynthia loved reading, watching game shows and formerly ran the nursery at Idalou United Methodist Church, where she was a member and loved helping people.

She is survived by two brothers, Bill (wife Sheryl) of Lorenzo and Wesley (wife Nicole) of Lubbock; one sister, Marilyn Webster of Gatlinburg, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Steven Shields.

There will be no public visitation for Ms. Shields. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the Idalou Cemetery, in Idalou, Texas. Officiating will be Elizabeth Abraham of Hospice of Lubbock. Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 3702 21st Street, Lubbock TX 79410.
