Frances Pearl Selman Scarborough, 90, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away May 29, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be held at Combest Family Funeral Home in Lubbock on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 5-7pm. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:30AM with her grandson Tony Scarborough of Lake Creek Baptist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.
Frances was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to Frank and Minnie Selman on August 6, 1930. She went to high school at Hobbs High School. She moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1948 to work in Sharp's Flower Shop where she met her future husband, Charles Duane Scarborough. Frances and Charles were married on May 1, 1948. Shortly afterwards, Charles and Frances bought Camps Bakers. Later to become Mrs. Camp's Bakery, which quickly became the best bakery in Lubbock, specializing in all kinds of pastries, cookies, bread, wedding and decorated cakes. She enjoyed playing games, especially card games, solitaire on the Internet, and spending time with friends and family.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, and son, Tim Scarborough.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bruce and Steve; five grandchildren, Tony Scarborough, Tracy Scarborough, Sam Scarborough, Beth Buckalew and Tara Scarborough; four great-grandchilldren, Ashley Blevins, Alexander Scarborough, Hunter and Kensey Buckalew; and four great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Levi Blevins, Ruby and Lily Scarborough.
