Johnny C. Walden, 81, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

Johnny was born on August 6, 1939 in Morton, Cochran County, Texas to the late Bud Walden and Ruth (Browning) Walden.

He met the love of his life, Glinda L. Morgan, and they were married on June 10, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2008.

Mr. Walden was a farmer and then a gifted and talented carpenter for many years before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed NASCAR, loved the company of people and was very family oriented. He was a member of Rock City Church.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are two sons, Danny Price and his wife Dorothy of Lubbock, Randall Price and his wife Babbette of Lubbock; one daughter, Cindy Walden of Lubbock; two brothers, Buddy Walden and Tommy Walden, both of Lubbock; one sister, Frances Petty of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Kassie Harlow of McKinney, Keri Grant of Colleyville, Tara Price and Kacy Price, both of Lubbock; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, and a close friend, Susan Pipes of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Glinda, one grandson, Jon Price and a sister, Doris Dunn.

Visitation for Mr. Walden will be Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Combest Family Funeral Home from 5 to 8 P. M., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 P. M. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A. M. on Monday, June 7, 2021 in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel with Jeff McCreight, Senior Pastor of Rock City Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Amherst, Texas under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Steve Dunn, Mark Dunn, Kevin Dunn, Jason Dunn, Tom Walden and Darel Walden. Kevin Petty will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in honor of Johnny be sent to the Lubbock Dream Center, 1111 30th Street, Lubbock, TX 79411.

Mr. Walden’s services will be live-streamed for those unable to attend. Danny, Randall and Cindy
There are not enough words to say how sorry I am for the loss of your Father and my sweet Uncle Johnny. I have wonderful memories of him Aunt Glenda and all of you. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time. So sorry that we are not able to attend. I would have loved to come.
