Deborah Ruth (Nance) Walton, 50, of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. She was the daughter of Michael and Linda (Nelson) Nance. Deborah grew up in many different locations as her father served in the military. She graduated from Lowndes High School in 1988. Deborah married Ben Walton in Thornton, Texas on May 7, 1993. She earned a bachelors in history degree from Sam Houston State University and had done graduate studies at Texas Tech University. Deborah worked as an optician for Dr. John Bowen before being employed as a special education teacher with Lubbock ISD for the past 14 years. During that time she touched lots of lives of students with special needs. Deborah was most recently employed at George R. Bean Elementary School and thoroughly enjoyed teaching. She was well loved by those who knew her. Deborah was a member of Sunset Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ben; daughters Aislinn Craig (Trevor) and Willow Walton; son, Michael Walton; brother Charles Nance (Elaine); biological siblings Sigi Golasch and Gudrun; mother, Linda Nance grandmother, Pat Nance and mother-in-law, Belinda (Bo) Haden.

She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Nance and her biological mother.

Memorial services will be held for Deborah on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:30am at Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock.
