Manuelita Uvalle Hernandez, 78 of Lubbock passed away Thursday, July 3. 2021 at home surrounded by family. She was born June 13, 1943 to Irineo and Jovita (Ariolo) Uvalle in Karnes City, Texas. Manuelita worked for Texas Tech in the custodial department for years, the dorms were like family to her. She loved dancing, making tortillas, and especial loved family. Manuelita raised three generations as her own. She was of the Catholic faith. Manuelita was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jimmy Hernandez, Yolanda Zavala, Leroy Hernandez, Albert Hernandez, Debbie Vigil; four siblings; thirteen grandchildren, Noami Martinez, Leroy Hernandez, Celeste Solis, Albert Hernandez. Jr., Stephanie Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez, Luciano Zavala, Matthew Zavala, Victor Vigil, Isaac Hernandez, Veida Vigil, Jimmy Hernandez, Jr., 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Amanda Gonzales; nephew, Leroy Gonzales; niece, Jovita Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Tommy Lee Hernandez, and Aaron Albert Hernandez.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with rosary to be cited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
