James Hancel Caudill, 40, of Lubbock, a retired United States Navy Police Officer, passed away on Monday afternoon, July 19, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Caudill was born in Lubbock on June 17, 1981, to Clifford and Betty (Cooper) Wright.
He met Bridget Denise Mensch and they were married on April 28, 2007, in Lubbock.
Mr. Caudill made his career serving in the United States Navy before being medically retired in June of 2021. He had served in Virginia Beach, Diego Garcia, Hawaii, Japan, San Diego, and spent 10 ½ months aboard the USS Eisenhower touring all over the Mediterranean. He was a Master at Arms in the US Navy for 13 years and had served at the NAS/JRB Naval Air Station in Ft. Worth. Mr. Caudill furthered his education, graduating in 2013 with his Masters degree in Forensic Investigation and Criminal Justice.
James loved to fish, golf, travel, fixing up cars, running, outside activities and was very family oriented. He grew up in the Baptist faith.
Surviving James include his wife, Bridget; one son, James Brice Caudill of Lubbock; two daughters, Jadin Denise Caudill and Teresa Janette Caudill, both of Lubbock; two brothers, David and Thomas Caudill, both of Lubbock; one sister, Stacy Fraijo of Tuscon, AZ, and his parents, Clifford and Betty Wright of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Perry Caudill and Marta Herman, and his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Bertha Cooper.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021, at 2:00 P. M. at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, Lubbock, Texas. Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
