Shirley Jett of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the age of 73. She was born June 20, 1948 in Lubbock to H. W. and Maddie Ruth (Smith) Flowers, Jr. When Shirley moved to Ft. Worth, she worked as a candy packager at King Candy and later as a silk screen printer at Texas Cup. When moving back to Lubbock, she began cleaning homes as she raised the children. She will most be remembered for her love of Christ and the servanthood and sacrificing she displayed in caring for others, despite their circumstances. Shirley had a deep-rooted smile that provided comfort and peace to her family in all circumstances. She was a faithful member of Parkway Drive Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Patty Gregory and husband Brian, Betty Moore and husband Jerry, and Bubba Jett and wife Kristin, all of Lubbock and Freddie Thoms, Jr. of Wilburton, Oklahoma; siblings, Lucretia Berick and Mark Flowers of Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband of more than 39 years, Jack Jett in December, 2018; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Moore. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Freddie Thoms, Sr. in February, 1998.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Parkway Drive Church of Christ.
