Terry Paul Brashear, 65, of Abernathy, passed away on Monday morning, September 13, 2021. He was born in Lubbock on November 10, 1955, to the late William Alvin Brashear and Lois Marie (Sellers) Brashear. He met Nora Beth Souder and they married on June 14, 1991, in Lubbock.

Terry graduated from Coronado High School where he won several state awards for meat judging. While he was offered scholarships for meat judging, he decided to serve his country instead and joined the U.S. Marines.

Terry logged many hours as a truck driver before returning to his preferred career as a butcher. He was vey proud of opening his own wild game processing plant before retiring. After retiring he began a new adventure attending South Plains College. Terry’s true passions were fishing, reading, and drag racing.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Beth; three daughters, Jennifer Sabin (Brian) of Houston, Jessica Brashear (Jerry) of Lubbock and Rebecca “Nikki” Brashear (Christien) of Abernathy; three brothers, Ronald Brashear of Lubbock, Alvin Brashear (Dorothy) of Brownwood and Carl Brashear (Katy) of Lubbock, and four grandchildren, Connor, Dylan, Ryley, and Belen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at New Millennium Baptist Church located at 101 E. Queens St., Lubbock.

Not goodbye old friend...only so long. Hopefully you danced down those streets of gold right to your lake, prepared for you! Catch some fish and get them ready when we meet again. I know your Mom and Dad greeted you and it was a beautiful reunion. You are and will always be loved, and missed. RIP my friend...until we meet again.
