Guadalupe Cuevas, 69 of Arlington passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021. He was born March 14, 1952, in Lubbock to Francisco and Dominga (Flores) Cuevas. Lupe graduated from Shallowater High School. He married Maria (Trevino) Cuevas on October 27, 1986. Lupe loved to drive trucks, he drove for Flemming Foods and Ryder Trucking Company. He was a special man with a big imagination. Lupe liked comic books, telling stories, John Wayne movies, and semi-trucks. He especially enjoyed going to concerts and dancing to Tejano music. Lupe was big on recycling and keeping receipts. But his biggest joy was his family and he especially loved playing with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 35 years, Maria of Arlington; children, Christian Fuentes and wife Teresa of Dimmitt, Michael Fuentes and wife Maria of Fort Worth, Francisco Cuevas and wife Amy of Arlington; grandchildren, Christian Fuentes II, Eric Fuentes, Stephanie Fuentes, Michael Fuentes II, Jazmine Fuentes, Joshua Fuentes, Jonathan Fuentes, Jacob Fuentes, Alize Fuentes, Lillianna Cuevas, Savannah Rendon. Dylan Rendon, Cesar Rendon, Jr.; great-grandkids, Damyan Rodriguez, Domniq Fuentes, Ava Garcia, Alejandro Fuentes, Christian Fuentes, Reginalel Sargent, Paradise Espino-Munos, Zhavia Fuentes, Marcel Warren; brothers, Francisco Cuevas of Lubbock, Santos Cuevas of Dallas, Joe Cuevas of Temple, Luis Cuevas of Shallowater; sisters, Sylvia Deleon of Levelland, Delia Morales of Mission, Mary Ellena Garcia of Kress, Minga Garza of Palestine; and numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Cuevas; mother-in-law, Clotilde Trevino; father-in-law, Jose Trevino; brother-in-law, Ralph Trevino; grandchildren, Sebastian Fuentes, and Lucian Avendano.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Venue on Broadway. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Venue on the Broadway with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
