I will always remember LeRoy as a kind and cheerful person. He, Victor Trujillo, and I would walk together to school from our neighborhood in Los Alamos from time to time. As memory serves me I believe I recall his making the winning touchdown at Homecoming 1968 while my sister, Beth, Julie McGurn, and I watched from the stands on a foggy evening at Sullivan Field, and there were just seconds left on the clock. That one so accomplished, generous and loving should pass too soon from our mortal realm is indeed sad.

In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust LeRoy.
In this life you embraced him with your tender
love; deliver him now from every eviland bid
him eternal rest.

The old order has passed away:
welcome him into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or
pain, but fullness of peace and joy
with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever
and ever.
Amen.
