Robert “Bob” Eugene Dobbins, 76, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022. He was born on February 6, 1945, in Wellington, Collingsworth County, Texas to the late Finis Dobbins and Tommie Bill (Lentz) Dobbins.

Bob moved with his family to Amarillo when he was a young boy and grew up there. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1963. At the young age of 14, he started working to help support his family. He worked as an ambulance driver for the original Amarillo Ambulance Service before working as a terminal manager in the trucking industry. He moved to Lubbock in the early 1980’s and has made it his home since.

He met Marcie Key, the love of his life, and they were married on September 10, 1995, in Lubbock.

He was recently employed by Billy Sims Trailor Town in Lubbock before retiring in 2016. He was no stranger to hard work. He was very family oriented and loved his family dearly. Bob also enjoyed football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and the beauty of the Colorado and New Mexico mountains. Hunting with his sons brought him great joy, and he had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marcie; two sons, John and Mike Dobbins of Amarillo; two daughters, Natalie Lowe of Amarillo and Jamyae Ellis of Lubbock; one sister, Geneva Wright of Amarillo; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Juanita Byas.
