  • Guestbook
Dani Kaye Haynes, 62, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday night, April 30, 2022. Dani was born on November 14, 1959, in Ft. Worth, Tarrant County, Texas to the late Dan and Louise Mason.

Dani attended and graduated from high school in Neosho, Missouri. She met Kevin Haynes, the love of her life, and they were married on February 10, 1978, in Neosho, Missouri. Dani served as the school secretary for Hanna Springs School for 13 years. Dani was a missionary, as well as a missionaryโ€™s wife, having served with her husband in Ecuador for 5 years. She has been involved in ministry all of her life, being a faithful Christian and serving her Lord in many capacities. Dani has been a member of Sunset Church of Christ for the last 15 years and was heavily involved in numerous church activities and ministries. She was a volunteer at the local Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock.

She loved to cook and sew, but her most enjoyable thing to do was to be a loving grandmother to her precious grandchildren. She loved going to the beach, especially Cozumel.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her husband, Kevin; two sons, Josh Haynes and his wife Heather, of Lubbock, and Matt Haynes and his wife Leslie, of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters, Becky Moore of Joplin, Missouri and Karla Wallace and her husband Mike of Webb City, Missouri; one brother, Mike Williams and his wife Helen, of Sanford, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Eden, Ellis, Harper and Holden Haynes. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bob Williams.

The Sunset Church of Christ will host a visitation for the family to receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the church parlor. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in the auditorium of Sunset Church of Christ, 3723 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79410.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Daniโ€™s memory be made to the Sunset International Bible Institute (SIBI), 3723 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79410, or to the Ronald McDonald House, 3413 10th Street, Lubbock, TX 79415.

Dani my beautiful sister it still does not seem real that you have gone to your Heavenly home, I know that grandma and Bob were there at the Heavenly gates waiting for you. How beautiful Heaven must be I can only imagine. I know miles kept us apart but it did not stop you from being in my heart and I thought about you all the time. We will meet again some day but until then you are in my heart always and forever.

Kevin,

Serena and I came to Lampasas after you left for SIBI so we only know you through the comments of other members of the 1st St Church. Everything we heard was so good we know Dani will be missed by many but we can all rejoice in that we have confidence she is with Jesus and you will be reunited with her one day.

She was such a sweet, kind and loving Christian example to everyone. I enjoyed her contagious smile and kind words every time I was around her. Spending time together in classes at Sunset International Bible Institute brings fond memories. The fact that we could share "similar experiences" ... that of being a part of a branch school of SIBI (the Haynes in Ecuador and Denny and I in Ukraine) ... is also something I cherished. She truly had the heart of a missionary. She was such a joy. Certainly, her death is our physical loss. Prayers for comfort and peace in the days, weeks, years to come. With love, Linda (and Denny)
