Kimberly Johnson, 60, of Lubbock passed away April 28th, 2022 at UMC Hospital in Lubbock.

Kim was born in Dallas, TX on March 22, 1962. She moved to Lubbock and graduated from Monterey High School. She also attended Texas Tech where she played the French horn and proudly marched for the Goin Band.

She married DeAnte Johnson on November 2, 2018.

Kim loved her family. Her daughter, Gabriela, and grandkids were her whole world.

Her favorite things to do were to spend time with friends and family. She loved shopping, enjoyed a good meal with good company, laughing, playing games, and watching movies. She was a kind, generous person and was always willing to help anyone she could.

Kim is preceded in death by both parents, Cindy and Doyle Elder and her grandparents, Dorothy and Walter.

She is survived by her husband, DeAnte; her daughter, Gabriela and husband James; three grandchildren, Adalynn, Makynli, and Waylon; brothers, Walt (Selina), and Scott (Gene); and sisters Kelley and Lisa. She also left behind nieces, Victoria, Sofia, Stephanie, Kim, and Kimberly; stepmother, Peggy Dillard; two chosen sisters, Genea McClellan and Rose McMichael; Godchildren, Michael, Destiny, Isaiah, and Regan; and many other friends and loved ones.

Services are to be decided. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

We started working together at Stenocall on the same day and shared so many similar paths. Our daughters were so close in age and we spent so much time talking about them and how much we loved them. She made me laugh all the time and comforted me when no one else could. She was the most generous giving person and I miss her. Prayers and love to everyo her family and friends.

My sincerest condolences to Kym's family.
I was one of her supervisors during her time at Stenocall.
She always always had a smile on her face and such a positive outlook on pretty much everything! I loved most though, seeing that sparkle in her eyes and smile on her heart when she talked about her daughter.
Praying for strength to her family. God bless.

We worked together in 1994 when I was pregnant with Isaiah. I was Gabriela's (your world) 1st baby sitter. You helped me take care of my mother til she passed. You were in L&D room when I delivered Destiny. You accepted being my kids Godmother. Both our hearts broke when you made decision to move back to Lubbock. God knew why he needed you back in Lubbock, for 2 yrs after being your Mother gained her wings. The hurt of losing you (distance-wise) slowly eased away as I saw how many good times you were blessed to have with new family and friends. (Your nieces, your Dadio and Gigi before they passed, meeting long lost brother, sister and nieces, your chosen sister Genea and Goddaughter Reagen and numerous friends that became your family. I pray the hurt I feel now will ease soon knowing you are reunited with family and friends waiting for you in heaven.. See you at the crossroads my Kimmie.

I never met Kym but she was like family. Her newly found half Sister Kelley is also my half Sister. We were all friend for being tied together in many ways. She was friendly sweet and loving. I know by messaging with her she was a great person. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I know she had been sick but now she is pain free and healthy. She got her wings to early but God had a plan and he needed her to come home. Prayer for all. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌβ™₯️
