Mike Worthington of Lubbock passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the age of 55. He was born June 10, 1958 in Lubbock to the late L.G. and Jonnie (Sartor) Worthington. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and employee for the waterworks industry for most of his career, with the last several years as Municipal Salesman for KW Sharp.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Debbie; daughter, Danyiel; three sons, David (Jen), Daymond (Kendra) and Lyle; two brothers, L.G. Jr. and George; one sister, Linda; and five grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Services is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.

Debbie and family, My heart goes out to al of you. Mike and all of you were in my prayers throughout each day after I read Bev Bontrager's first post on Face Book. You remain in my prayers. I continue to pray for comfort and peace for each of you. I have lost my father and my husband. I promise you this......you will not always hurt like you do now. It will get better. It will take time, but it does get better. May God help you through this difficult loss.

I know that your hearts are breaking for you all have lost a wonderful man with such a big heart. He opened his heart and life to his family and his friends. The great loss that his friends and family are feeling is testimony to the kind of man he was. He gave himself to others...always ready to help in anyway he could. I have know Mike for many years. He was not only a customer but a good friend. I have known him since he began his waterworks industry career. I knew his dad very well and Mike always reminded me of him. Mike was always friendly and kind. I will miss him greatly. My prayers are with the Worthington family.
