It is with sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our precious Candice "Candy" Lee Garrett Avila who went to be with the Lord on June 29th, 2026.

She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Candy was born on December 11th, 1975 in Lubbock, Texas.

She was the proud mother of her beloved daughter, Jordyn Scout Avila. The daughter of Laurie Tillery, the loving sister of Shane Garrett, and a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her father Billy Joe Garrett, grandparents, Lester and Margie Garrett, and Lee and Eula Tillery.

Candy was a proud graduate of Wayland Baptist University.

Candy was the heart of her family. She was a devoted mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She gave freely of her time, compassion, and unwavering love. Her kindness, selflessness, and generous spirit touched so many.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her.
