Darrell "Butch" Arlen Reynolds, 84, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026.
Butch was born on December 5, 1941, in Kelton, Texas, to Murrell Grant Reynolds and Bernice Sims Reynolds. He graduated from Samnorwood High School before attending Clarendon College and Texas Tech University. On December 13, 1964, he married the love of his life, Wanda, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.
Butch dedicated nearly 40 years to the Texas Department of Transportation, retiring as an Assistant Supervisor. He was also a devoted Children's Sunday school teacher, serving for 25 years in Amarillo and another 7 years at First Baptist Church in Tahoka. Sharing God's love and investing in the lives of others brought him great joy.He loved spending time outdoors, fishing, cooking for family and friends, and was especially known for his delicious pecan pie. He also enjoyed collecting John Deere tractor memorabilia. More than anything, Butch loved being with his family. He was affectionately known as "everyone's grandad," welcoming all with kindness, wisdom, and a warm smile.
He is survived by his son, Bryan Reynolds and wife, Paula; his daughter, Sherri Reynolds; his grandchildren, Harley Swaim and husband, Austin, Hadley Reynolds and wife, Hannah, Meghan Spiker, and Tucker Spiker and wife, Gabby; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Bennett Swaim, Kreed Swaim, Leighton Reynolds, Scottie Reynolds, Murphie Reynolds, Levi Bouressa, and Karter Bouressa. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Reynolds, in 2019; his parents, Murrell Grant Reynolds and Bernice Sims Reynolds; his brothers, Jerry Reynolds and Duane Reynolds; and his grandson, Ty Reynolds.
Butch's legacy of faith, hard work, generosity, and love for his family will continue to live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Church of Tahoka.
