Deborah “Debby” Wilkinson, 73, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on September 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and a family who will cherish her memory forever.

Born on December 2, 1952, in Jasper, Texas, Debby was the beloved daughter of E.P. Brooks Jr. and Joan Brooks. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1971 and married her husband, Richard Wilkinson, on June 5, 1971. Throughout her life, her greatest joy was her family and the home they built together.

Debby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who loved her children more than anything. She loved being home with her family, creating a place filled with warmth, love, and memories. She was the kind of mama who treasured time with her children and found joy in the everyday moments of family life.

Debby was a light in every room she walked into. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, and her laughter and hilarious sense of humor could brighten anyone's day. She loved to have fun, never met a stranger, and had a way of making people feel like they had known her forever. Everyone who knew her had a reason to love her, and her joyful personality left a lasting impression on so many lives.

Debby found happiness in gardening, cooking, baking, crafting, and decorating. She loved creating beautiful things and making her home a place where her family could gather. As a grandmother, she was deeply loved, and the memories she made with her grandchildren will be treasured for generations to come. Debby's Christian faith was an important part of her life. Her love for her family, her generous spirit, and the joy she shared with others will continue to live on through the people she touched. Her family takes comfort in the hope of being reunited with her in heaven.

Debby is survived by her daughters, DeAnna Altpeter and her husband, Mat; Holly Coy and her husband, Ryan; and Lori Wilkinson; her grandchildren, Zach, Jillian, Caden, Maddyn, Brookie, and Harrison; her great-granddaughter, Isla, and another great-grandchild on the way; and her sister, Karen Yeates, and her husband, Robert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wilkinson, and her parents, E.P. and Joan Brooks. Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we will continue to celebrate the beautiful life she lived. We will remember her laughter, her humor, her love, and the light she brought into every room. She was a wonderful mama, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be loved and missed for the rest of our lives.

The family will honor and celebrate the life of Deborah Brooks Wilkinson with a funeral service at 10:00 am, Monday, September 21, 2026, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel, Lubbock, TX. Interment will take place at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Hancock Cemetery in Jasper, TX.
