Filliberto Sixtas, 60, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, in Lubbock. He was born on August 15, 1966, in Olton, Texas, to Antonio Sixtas and Apolonia Monreal Baker.

Filliberto was a resident of the Lubbock State Supported Living Center since 1971, where he became a beloved member of the community. Over the years, he touched the lives of many through the friendships he formed with those around him and the staff who cared for him.

Filliberto enjoyed listening to Tejano music and watching Western shows. These simple pleasures brought him comfort and happiness and were a special part of his life.

He is survived by his guardian, Patricia Moore, and her family; his sister, Guadalupe Molina; his brother-in-love, Gordon Phelps; and a multitude of friends and staff at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center who cared for and supported him throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Apolonia Monreal Baker; maternal grandparents, Rafael and Pilar Monreal; uncles, Anselmo Monreal, Rafael Monreal Jr., and Pablo Monreal; and aunts, Amelia Fabrow and Tomasa Espinosa.

Patricia would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center who cared for Filliberto throughout the years. Their dedication, kindness, and compassion were an important part of his life and brought comfort and support to both Filliberto and his loved ones.

Filliberto will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the many people whose lives he touched throughout his years at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center.
