Gary Dale Stark, 75, of Shallowater, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 25. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Stark, and is survived by his mother, Scharlene. He leaves behind his wife, Tonya, his children, Matthew, Joel, and Rebekah, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Rhonda and Danny.

Gary worked as a skilled butcher for many years, then went to work for TDCJ. He retired after 20 years as a Corrections Officer. He enjoyed water sports, outdoors, and trying new things, leading him to explore the arts of fencing, clog dancing, and photography. Gary’s passion for firearms and shooting sports never left him. Gary found immense happiness in spending quality time with his daughter and granddaughter.

A memorial service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at The Church at Mesa Verde, located at 4022 NE 26th Ave, Amarillo, TX, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM. 

Family and friends are invited to join in honoring his memory. Gary Stark will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
