Obituary

Jayce Kyle Pebsworth of Wolfforth passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the age of 26. He was born April 6, 2000, and grew up in Wolfforth, where he graduated from Frenship High School in 2017.

From an early age, Jayce had a natural talent for anything with an engine. A skilled mechanic by trade, he turned his passion into a career as the co-owner of Absolute Performance with this dad, Kent. He had a need for speed and a passion for all kinds of racing, from street racing and drag racing to cars and dirt bikes. If it had wheels and went fast, Jayce was all in. He also had a love for hunting and firearms, often purchasing guns simply for the enjoyment of taking them apart, learning how they worked, and putting them back together.

But as much as Jayce loved the thrill of speed, it was his larger-than-life personality and heart of gold that truly defined him. He was one of the most respectful people you could ever meet, someone who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jayce would never hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. He genuinely loved people, and people loved being around him. He was optimistic, outgoing, and never minded being the center of attention. With his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor, he could make anyone laugh and turn an ordinary moment into a lasting memory. Jayce was unapologetically himself, living life hard and fast, with a fearless spirit and a determination to enjoy every moment.

One of the greatest loves of Jayce's life was his wife, Jaye Gossett. Their love story began more than ten years ago, growing from young love into a lasting bond built on years of shared experiences, adventures, and memories. In October 2025, the couple eloped in the privacy of the beautiful Colorado mountains.

Jayce packed more living into his 26 years than many do in a lifetime. He wasn't one to sit on the sidelines or let fear stand in the way of an adventure. He lived boldly, loved deeply, laughed often, and left an unforgettable impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Jaye Pebsworth of Wolfforth; his father, Kent Pebsworth and Amanda of Wolfforth; his mother, Melissa Townsend of Odessa; his siblings, Taylor Pebsworth and Kole Pebsworth of Wolfforth, and Kyler Pebsworth and wife Terri, and Brayden Pyles, of Lubbock; his cherished nieces and nephew, Saylor, Laiklynn, and Graysen; and in-laws, John and Diana Gossett of Lubbock. He also leaves behind numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2026, at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at The Worship Center, located at 82nd Street and Upland.
