Jenifer Ann
Mares
Apr 21, 1981 — Jul 23, 2026
Lubbock, TX
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Jenifer Ann Mares, 45, on July 23, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1981, in the warm landscape of Lubbock, Texas. Jenifer’s life was a radiant constellation of love, resilience, and devotion to those she held dear.
Jenifer brought sunlight wherever life’s path took her. From her earliest days in Lubbock, she radiated the kind of warmth that drew others close – an earnest listener, an empathetic soul, and a steadfast anchor for her family. Her unwavering spirit guided her through life’s joys and challenges, shaping a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were graced by her presence.
To her beloved husband, Jose Mares-Sanchez, Jenifer was a loyal companion and true partner. Together they shaped a home brimming with laughter, compassion, and the gentle cadence of everyday togetherness. Their union created a tapestry of enduring love – a story now honored in treasured memory.
As a mother, Jenifer’s dedication was both tireless and fierce, her heart enormous enough to embrace each of her eight children: Isaiah Dominick Mares, Jose Luis Mares III, Nicholas Lee Mares, Maximo Samuel Mares, Ezequiel Adriano Mares, Danika Sophia Mares, Zoe Alina Mares, and Richard Gael Mares. Through quiet encouragement and boundless love, she nurtured their individual spirits, always guiding them to become compassionate, driven, and thoughtful individuals. Her love for her children was evident in every word and gesture – a legacy that will forever echo in their lives.
Jenifer’s bond with her family extended far beyond her immediate circle. Her parents are Richard O., Rebecca Martinez, and Cruz Perez-Castillo, holding fast to the traditions and values instilled in her youth. Her siblings include Richard Martinez, Jr., Fernando H. Martinez, Fabian H. Martinez, Victoria Ortiz and husband Francisco, and Adam Soto – knew her as a confidant and a companion, the person whose laughter brightened gatherings and whose wisdom soothed trouble hearts.
Her life was woven from the threads of connection: as a sister, she offered support and kindship; as a friend, solace and joy; as a daughter and granddaughter, gratitude and respect. Every relationship bore the mark of her compassion.
In this time of mourning, her family and all whose lives she touched find solace in the vibrant tapestry of memories Jenifer leaves behind. Her unfailing warmth, her caring guidance, and the love she enveloped each of us with – these gifts endure, guiding us through the days ahead and reminding us of the beauty she brought into our lives.
A light has dimmed, but its warmth remains. As Jenifer Ann Mares is remembered, we hold close the laughter she shared, the love she gave so freely, and the grace with which she lived every day. Though her journey among us has ended, her spirit continues to inspire, an everlasting ember in the hearts of those she loved.
