Obituary

Jesusa P. Garcia, affectionately known to many by Susie of Tahoka, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 1,2026 at the age of 69. She was born on January 25, 1957, to SR Pena and Natalia Ancira. Susie will be remembered for her kindness, her love for family, and the friendships she shared with those around her.

Susie married David Garcia in September 1984, and together they built a life centered around family and the memories they shared. She was a proud mother to her two sons, Justin Ryan Pena and Zach Garcia, whose lives and accomplishments brought her great joy.

Susie graduated from Tahoka High School in 1976. While in High School she was nominated for band sweetheart. Following graduation, she worked in the school cafeteria, remaining connected to the community she called home.

She loved sports, especially watching her children's sporting events and cheering them on. Softball held a special place in her heart, along with football and baseball. She was also a proud Texas Longhorns fan, proudly supporting the team because of her sons' connection to the university. She enjoyed listening to music and singing, but most of all, she enjoyed being around people. Susie was known for her kindness and for being a friend to everyone she met. She loved her beloved animals- Celin, Blue, Bella, sunshine and Luke.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David Garcia of Tahoka Texas; her sons, Justin Ryan Pena of Sheboygan Wisconsin and Zach Garcia of Delvalle Texas. She also leaves behind her siblings Janie de Leon, Constance Garcia, Fran Marez, Virginia Sanchez, and Joe Pena Sr.

She was preceded in death by Mary Benavides, Lucy Benitez, Margareta Pena Jasso, George Pena, Paul Pena, SR Pena Jr, younger brother Jesse and Parents SR Pena Sr. and Natalia Ancira.
