LaQuita Beck, a cherished soul whose warmth and tenacity touched all who knew her, departed this world on July 26, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on January 6, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas, LaQuita was adopted as a newborn and raised by the parents who became the center of her world, Harold and LaWanda Long. Her life became a tapestry woven with threads of love, resilience, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family.

Her father, Harold, was a home builder, and she adored him. Alongside her mother LaWanda, they instilled in LaQuita the values that would define her life: kindness, compassion, hard work, and the belief that there was always room at the table for one more. As a sister to LaVenda Lee and the late Dennis Long, she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and enduring love.

LaQuita shared many years of marriage with her late husband, Rodney Beck. Together they built a family rooted in love and steadfast commitment. In recent years, she found companionship again and was grateful to share her life with her beloved boyfriend, Gregg whose love and presence brought her comfort and happiness.

Her greatest joy, however, was always her family. She is lovingly survived by her children: her sons Clifford Ross and Jordan Ross; and her daughter, Megan Alonzo. Being their mother was the role she treasured most, and she poured every ounce of herself into raising, encouraging, protecting, and loving them.

That love only grew with the arrival of her grandchildren, Lilyauna, Augustine, Ariah, Aniyah, Alorah, and Ren who became the light of her life. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with them, sharing stories, making memories, and simply being "Grandma." Her children and grandchildren were her greatest accomplishments and her deepest source of pride.

LaQuita had a gift for making people feel cared for. She was selfless to her core, quick to give even when she had little, and happiest when she was taking care of someone else. She never missed an opportunity to share a meal, believing that food had a way of bringing people together. Whether family, or friend everyone who sat at her table was welcomed with warmth, generosity, and love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodney Beck; her parents, Harold and LaWanda Long; and her brother, Dennis Long. Though she carried the weight of many losses throughout her life, she never stopped loving deeply or giving freely.

To those blessed to know her, LaQuita was a safe harbor: gentle, compassionate, and fiercely devoted to the people she loved. Her laughter brightened rooms, her generosity knew few limits, and her quiet strength carried countless people through difficult days. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen, valued, and at home simply by being herself.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on July 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Combest Family Funeral Home in Lubbock, and to honor her life at a funeral service on July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM, also at Combest Family Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway Street, Lubbock, Texas 79401.

As we grieve, we also give thanks for a life so generously lived. LaQuita's love did not end with her passing. It lives on in the kindness she taught, the family she cherished beyond measure, the meals she shared, the grandchildren she adored, and the countless hearts forever changed by having known her. Though she is no longer by our side, her love remains a guiding light, carrying us forward until we meet again.
