Leonard Glen Blair, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Lubbock, TX. Leonard was born on September 29, 1942, in Monahans, TX, to Howard Blair and Ruby Helms, the second of four children.

Leonard’s life from even his earliest years, was marked by hard work, humor, curiosity, deep friendships, love for his family, and devotion to his Maker. Leonard was the loving husband of the late Bonnie Blair, whom he married on April 8, 1966. Together they shared many years of partnership and love as well as a shared devotion to both their faith and family.

Leonard owned his own business, Portable Repair, and worked passionately as an automotive and heavy truck mechanic for over 50 years. He provided a 24/7 roadside service that helped many stranded motorists throughout the years and worked hard to provide for his family. His passion for repairing, learning, inventing, and fixing continued even long after he was unable to work. His other passions included studying scripture and writing poetry, and these especially continued into his final days.

He is survived by his daughter Tammy Swift, and husband Doug Swift; his son, Brian Blair, and wife Alisha Blair; his brother, David Blair, and wife Brenda Blair; and sisters Wanda Southerland and Susan Moore. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zachary Sedino, and wife Haley Sedino, Joshua Blair, Grace Blair, Zoe Swift; and his great-grandchildren, Grayson Sedino, Skyla Sedino, and Asher Sedino. Leonard also leaves behind many friends, and other family members whom he loved dearly.

Leonard will be remembered most of all by his love for the Lord, commitment to his family, strong work ethic, curiosity, love of music, sense of humor, and love of animals both big and small.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Leonard’s life at a Funeral Service on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.at Combest Family Funeral Home – Lubbock, 2210 Broadway St, Lubbock, TX 79401. Together we will remember Leonard’s life and celebrate his legacy.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Willshire on 4th, and Beyond Faith Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Thank you for caring for him deeply and for helping him live life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed, however, we will hold close our memories of him and the stories he shared. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of the legacy of hard work, humor, and devotion to both faith and family that he leaves behind.
