In Loving Memory of Linda Jeanette Romine Pyron

Linda Jeanette Romine Pyron, lovingly known as "Jeanette" and "Nonnie," passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Savior on July 15, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by family . In a beautiful testament to a lifetime of devotion, she went to be with the Lord exactly 60 years to the day after marrying the love of her life, Larry G. Pyron. Sixty years ago, Larry took Jeanette's hand in marriage, and on her final day, he lovingly held that same hand until he entrusted her into the hands of Jesus.

Jeanette was born on November 13, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas, to Melvin M. Romine and Rebecca J. Jenkins Romine.

She graduated from O'Donnell High School in 1963 before attending Jesse Lee's Hair Design Institute in Lubbock. For many years, Jeanette served the O'Donnell community as a hairstylist, creating friendships as lasting as the hairstyles she crafted. Though she loved her career, her greatest calling began after she put away the scissors and hair dryer. She wholeheartedly embraced her favorite titles: devoted wife, loving mother, and most especially, "Nonnie."

Jeanette had a servant's heart. Her kitchen was always open, and no one ever left her home hungry. She found joy in caring for others, whether that meant preparing a favorite meal, gathering everyone around the table, or hopping in the car after 10:00 p.m. for one of her famous Sonic runs. She never outgrew her sense of adventure, especially if it meant spending time with the people she loved.

Of all the memories she created, some of the sweetest were the quiet moments spent rocking each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren while softly singing her beloved "Dude-a-Lum-E." Those moments of comfort, love, and gentle songs will forever live in the hearts of her family.

Jeanette was known for her loving, caring, and kind spirit. She welcomed people with warmth and compassion, always ready to offer encouragement or lend a helping hand. But anyone who knew Jeanette also knew that when those beautiful brown eyes meant business, you paid attention. She possessed a quiet strength, unwavering convictions, and a fierce love for her family.

Together, Jeanette and Larry built more than a home—they created a place of refuge filled with unconditional love, laughter, faith, and countless cherished memories. They raised three children, adored seven grandchildren, and celebrated ten great-grandchildren, each one knowing that Nonnie and Ummies house was a place where they were always loved, always welcomed, and always safe.

As Jeanette's health declined in her later years, the love story she and Larry shared became even more evident. Just as they had cared for generations of family, Larry lovingly became her devoted caregiver, faithfully standing beside her every step of the way. In those final years, he became her safe place, just as she had always been his.

Jeanette is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Larry G. Pyron; her daughters, Netta Davis of O'Donnell and Rebecca Childress of Lubbock; and her son, Kyle Pyron of O'Donnell.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Kindra Greer; Spencer Arthur and wife Morgan; Brandon Pyron and wife Kayla; Madison Henricks; Hannah Strange and husband Krese; Haden Childress; and Hadlee Wells and husband Reagan.

Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Tristen, Rhyder, and Paizlee Arthur; Riggen Greer; Karsyn and Sutton Pyron; Blayten Henricks Truett Strange; Beckham Childress; and Remington Wells.

She is also survived by her brothers, **Ken Romine and wife Karen of Dickens, **and Jimmy Romine of O'Donnell; sister-in-law, Darlene of San Angelo; her very special friends, Don and Kay Fenn of Cleburne; and Loyd Bowden of Cleburne; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin M. Romine and Rebecca J. Jenkins Romine; her beloved son-in-law, Choya Davis, whom she lovingly considered her fourth child that was waiting on her and said " Hello Pretty Lady" & "Come Make Me A Banana Pudding" ; and her sister-in-law, Jeralyn Romine.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Jeanette's faith has become sight. She has been reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and we can only imagine the joy of hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Her family will forever remember her gentle hugs, her warm kitchen, her unwavering faith, her contagious laughter, the late-night Sonic trips, and the sweet melody of "Dude-a-Lum-E." Above all, they will remember a woman whose greatest accomplishment was loving her family well.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at Willshire Memory Care & Grayce Hospice for their loving cares in her final days.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Combest Funeral Home in O'Donnell.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Lamesa, Texas, with burial immediately following at O'Donnell Cemetery.
